Project 24 for Summer 2012
We will now begin our school supply drive to collect items for the Big Oak Ranch children for the fall school year. The items that we need are 3X5 lined index cards, Kleenex, paper towels and clear plastic sheet protectors. This is for about 90 children and we need to have them at Big Oak Ranch the 2nd week in August. God Bless you for your help! If you would like to supply some of the these items you can bring it to Coaling Baptist church and place them in the Project 24 box in the old fellowship hall. If you would like to get more information you may call the church at 205-556-2775 and thanks for your help!

2012 Updates
This year we have been able to meet several needs so far of children in foster care, including clothes, gymnastics fees,Girl Scout Fees,Baseball equipment, and swimming lesson fees. We have also been able to help out by sending some money to Globe International Ministry to help Dede and Shajan with their VBS. They are expecting 1000 kids to attend. Praise God for the opportunity to bring a blessing into the lives of these children who are so special in the eyes of God. We have decided to move the annual walk a thon to the fall this year so be praying for us about that and if you have any ideas please let me know. We are thinking about having a 5K run/walk this year. Some things that will be coming up in the near future: special DTO Mother's Day T shirts and Father's Day T shirts for sale, a singing/supper to benefit DTO and maybe a bakesale too. All of the funds we raise will go to help an orphan's life be a little bit better and in turn we hope and pray they will know the love of God and turn to Him.

Project 24 in 2011
Our focus this summer is Project 24. Project 24 is based on Deuteronomy chapter 24 where God commands His people to leave some food at the edge of their fields and not harvest all of it but leave some for the orphans, widows and aliens. In an effort to honor God's word, Defend the Orphans ministry created Project 24. This is a time when we donate and collect items that are needed for orphans and foster children and place them in the Project 24 box at church. In the summer we usually focus on collecting school supplies for the children at Big Oak Ranch. We have just completed this project and delivered a car full of supplies last Friday! Thank you to Coaling Baptist church who always gives so generously to help take care of the needy.
